Looking for a good no heavier than 3/8oz stand up bass jig to buy. Not a bare jig head talking complete with skirt and weed guard.

I saw the discussion in the other thread and almost commented there. To me, stand up head = Ned head. There are skirted options, but bare hook tends to be the norm. For skirted neds, check out the Buckeye Spot Remover and the skirted Z-man Shrooms. The skirting on the Buckeye's is very cheap, but it'll accept replacement skirts. Matzuo makes a Marabou skirted ned that I was really excited for. Unfortunately, the fish don't seem to be as excited as I was.

Truth be told, skirted ned heads have never worked as well as I thought they would. My theory is the skirt throws off the silhouette enough to make the fish reject it. This summer I'm going to try them trimmed down like a finesse jig.

Look at Siebert Outdoors Brush jig. Regardless, you’ll want a buoyant trailer.
