Went out yesterday for first time with new braid and I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW QUICKLY THE COLOR FADED! In some sections it looks like I'm using white line. I knew the dye would not last forever but had no idea it would fade after just a couple hours

It was a Vermilion red color.

That's the nature of the beast. Once it hits the water the fade is on, usually it fades uniformly and will eventually stop all together. Never had a braid fade to white I must admit.

That is why I buy white braid to begin with.  I can mark a couple of feet with a sharpie if needed.

Vicious No Fade Braid. I have used it since I came out. I am on season 2.5 with the same spool and still looks brand new. Talked to a vicious rep and was told 4 seasons is the max they recommend on the same line. I guess the $70 for a 300 yard spool for 4 seasons would break down to roughly $18 a season if you need to justify paying that much for line.

I take a little fade over performance all day long.

If you want to avoid fade.....fins, gamma

I have had some expensive braids fade to white.  One in particular happened within a couple trips!

 

Pline tcb and Daiwa 8x are probably best in my experience

Another Vicious No Fade guy here. It does what the name says and is a very good line.

Kvd line and lure helps...Have some vermillion red thats been through 2 seasons of hard river life. Still red. Red spike it marker helps once it starts losing its color if it really matters to ya.

Vicious no fade braid is the only one I have seen that keeps its color.

 

 

Just wish they made it in a high vis yellow.
