How do you set up for this, rod, line, etc.?

We need weights and sizes.  Are we talking a hudd 6" or a mag.  Size matters a lot here when advising you what you need.

5 inch Rising Son.  Not really big, but bigger than what I have used.  

3:16 doesn't make a 5" Rising Sun; 6.75" weighs 2 1/2 oz about the same as a 6" Hudd for comparison.

Swimbait rod rated 1-5 oz, 17-25 lb mono/Copoly line, reel with big enough spool to hold 150 yards of line.

Must be a new offering, in a two pack.  I don't have a Swimbait rod.  I have an 8'6"Salmon rod that I may try.

Can't imagine the small 5" would weigh more then 1 1/2 oz, heavy crank bait rod would work.

Trying not to buy a new rod.  I have a 7'3" MH Lamiglass that is fishes big.  Seems overkill on 3/4 oz jig.  Also have a M Diawa.  Gonna go experiment  off the bank.  I have 25 lb Maxima Cameleon and 20 lb Trilene XT.  Muddy water.  Do you think the Maxima will hinder the action?

For that size 15lb would be enough imo.

5" WRS weighs 1.25 oz. I would think any jig or flipping rod would be capable of throwing it. Line I would either go 50lb braid to leader or 15-20lb mono/fluoro. I would think your lamiglass should be able to handle it.

25 lb Max is a high memory line, if you can cast it ok it would work, the 20 XT would be good.

Is the 1 1/4 oz wt with a hook? It's a small  Swimbait, try both rods use what feels and cast best for you.
