Changing out the treble hooks

Featured Replies

Is it necessary to change out treble hooks on a strike king 6xd crank bait if I'm fishing for white Bass hybrids or stripers ? I know tournament anglers do but I'm not a tournament angler and I wonder if it's even necessary for the  kind of fish I am after . since I am not fishing for large mouth Bass .the reason I am even asking this question is because for me changing out treble hooks is a pain and I don't want to risk getting a hook stuck  in me but what are y'all's thoughts should I change them out or should I keep coming the original hooks ?

Strike king baits come with great hooks in my opinion. I wouldn’t switch hooks out unless you have a problem.

Any of the xd series have great hooks, I hate the regular series hooks.

I use to change hooks. Sometimes ended up getting the wrong ones, little too long shank and the front and back hooks would "hook" each other during cast. Go back and get the right hooks, ended up wasting money that could have been spent on more lures!
