Do you trust all of your technology?

I'm confident many members own one of the remote controlled trolling motors, BUT how many of you trust it enough to spot lock a distance away from the dock while you park or retrieve your vehicle?  I haven't been that brave yet...

Sorry someone felt the need to move this post.  It's about the angler's courage in using this technology rather than about the trolling motor...

I've done it.  The range on the remotes is at least 100 feet, but I'd never push it that far.

One time I did it, some Gomer pegging the self absorbed meter promptly put his trailer into the dock to launch his boat.

I pulled my boat in right behind his and took my time getting ready...

Haven't done it since.

Nope, knowing my luck it would be the one time I forget to power up the trolling motor. I trust all this tech., up to a point, but there have been times I know it's wrong, for instance I have seen fish on my fish finder and I look over the side, I can see bottom, but no fish.
