Braid line

Featured Replies

I have recently switch to braid line I am using 10lbs line was wonder if it can break my rod?

Umm...10lb braid has the same diameter as like 2lb. or 4lb mono, unless you're fishing with a Star Wars or Spiderman kiddie rod you should be fine.

Yea I think you should be fine unless you are fishing an ultralight rod or something.

As with any setup, set the drag to the weakest link in the system, whether that be the reel, the rod, or the line.  I suspect the line and rod are about the same lb. rating.  If the rod is lower, set it to about 1/3 of the rating.  If the rod is rated for 10 lbs. line, set the drag to 1/3 of the line rating, or around 3 lbs. of resistance.
