Discussions on what rod to use consisted of how long the cane pole should be?

I remember using a cane pole, but was too young to even realize they came in different lengths. 

I loved pond fishing with one of dad's two cane poles.  Every time we see a cane pole in any store my wife wants to buy it.  I've tried to tell her a 27ft cane pole doesn't fit in the rod locker.  

I started out fishing a cane pole. I never thought about the length. I just went fishing.

We still bust out cane poles several times a year. Nothing better than sitting there with a box of crickets slaying bream and small bass

When life was simple... Haha.
