When helping my dad clean out his shop stumbled on this and wondered if it should be kept or trashed. I believe South Bend used to be a good brand back in the day. 

Don't trash it.  Hang on to it as a keepsake. Not much $$ value but worth more than that.

I'd keep it...gotta be someone out there who collects old reels...South Bend is still around...been around a long time...should have kept my old black beauty casting rod...
