Split Rings, what to buy to replace bad ones?

Featured Replies

Was out fishing today, and landed a solid 4lb on my 90 whopper plopper.  Unfortunately he got hooked funny and I had to destroy the split ring to get the hook off him.  I'm not sure what size it is, as I haven't had to replace them before.  Wouldn't mind a good brand multi size pack, but recommendations are welcome.

Thanks!

The Owner Hyper Wire Black Split Ring is really good and just may be the industry standard to quality.

Size #3 (or #4 if you plus size those trebles)  should do you nicely right there.

I use the black VMCs from Tackle Warehouse. You can make yourself up a nice kit pliers and rings pretty cheap. Look to see some of your various sizes and order them up. But you can just go to WAlly World and get some Eagle Claws and be ok. I just prefer the VMC stuff, hooks and treble hooks.

Spro or Owners work for me.
