Can I dip my Zman plastics into some Spike-it or JJ's without some crazy chemical reaction taking place? 

I am not a chemist, but my understanding is that elaztech does not play nice with plastasol, a chemical used to soften plastic such as baits and Plano boxes. 

 

Assuming jj magic and Spike it do not contain plastasol and you don't leave elaztech in extreme heat you should be fine. 

 

FYI, I have zman plastics in a Plano box for about a year and a half now. It's warped the box but no Melting, fire, explosions, or earth rotational changes have taken place as far as I know

Sometimes it will dissolve almost instantly, sometimes it has no problems at all. I have no idea why but that seems to be the case. 

The dyes are hit & miss, but the Spike it paint works well.  For the TRD finesse Hogz, I like to use a touch of the orange paint on the two "claws".

Dip it super fast, be careful with zinkerz which contain less plastic compare to other. I don't have problem with diezel or paddle shad with JJ but I melt TRD once when dip too long.

if you are not sure you can use small paint brush instead of dipping the whole thing. 

I dip my ned rigs in spike it all the time and nothing happens to the plastic that I can tell?

Sorry to necro this thread but Elaztech is too finicky for me to risk anymore with anything so I stopped using those altogether and gave most of em away!

I melted some in JJ’s once. I use mega strike for scent on zman.
