Has anybody modified an old Vbottom boat: such as flooring

Featured Replies

Just curious if anybody has modified an old Vbottom boat; such as the flooring... if you have any advice or plans/pics would be awsome thanks.

yea thats sort of what im looking for but my old boat has the three benches and i dont know if i can take that middle bench out without compromising the integrity of the boat... but nice job on your boat man

See the share-a-project in my signature line for the mod I did on a 16' Starcraft last year.

these are V hulls guys, a mod v is actually a jon boat with a small v section up front.

Taking out a bench seat is no big deal as long as you plan to re-support it like gatortoms.

Of course they are all v hulls since that is what he asked for.  XcoM274 referred to his boat as a mod v when it is not.  I agree with LBH on taking out bench seats as long as the hull has some support

Hmm, I thought a mod V was when the V is only up front with a flat hull bottom toward the stern. my mistake.

I am making a livewell out of a cooler and one of these.

You can use it to fill, recirculate, pass-through and empty.

As far as the weight issue... I would only be able to make a guess I didn't weight everything before I added it but I would estimate between 80-100lbs for mine because I used 1/2" ply and 2x3's because the stupid stores in Philly only sell treated 2x2's and the 3/8" plywood had more curves than Marylin Monroe.
