Zodias and TCS

Featured Replies

I've searched around the forum a bit for information on both rods and have found some helpful information.

I'm looking for guys or gals with first hand experience with the Shimano Zodias or Okuma TCS. I am looking at the 7'0 ML Spinning models of each for a Ned Rig/Drop shot set up. I'd prefer to stay at the TCS price range, but could be persuaded into the Zodias. I can't find a single place anywhere near me that I could touch the rods so I would really appreciate anyone with specific experience with these rods in the spinning models.

Thanks.

You can get the Tcs for less than $100 at Amazon and Wal-Mart. I think you can get the zodias 20% off at Tackle warehouse too.

In my opinion, the Zodias has much higher quality guides and blanks than the Okuma line.

Thank you. The more I research it seems the Zodias and Expride are highly thought of rods for each price range.

I own both those models, and I absolutely LOVE the Expride!

The okuma TCS is a real nice rod but the zodias definetly excels above it.

I have two TCS and really like them but don't own any more expensive rods.

What models do you have? And what reels are they paired with?

Apples to oranges. Zodias is a great rod.

I have the 691MH and I just picked up the 701H.  The 691 has been my spinnerbait rod this season and I have absolutely loved it-light balanced, awesome taper for my style of spinnerbait fishing.  I haven't used the 701H much but I intend to use it for texas rigs and paddle tails.  Both are paired with Curado K's, which match very well with the TCS rods in terms of quality IMO.
