I recently purchased a new Ulterra and don't have enough room to store two group 27 batteries in my old Lund Rebel's fron't compartment.  I have always used lead acid batteries, but am considering going with AGM's for this setup. Basically, I need something with a smaller footprint that can give me enough juice to troll a good 6 hours per outing.

 

What battery manufacturer do you guys recommend going with for my trolling motor?  Preferably one with a high reserve capacity and amp rating.

 

I've been considering the VMAXTANKS MR107-85 12V 85AH, but I suspect there are better batteries out there with a better warranty.

 

 

I had a Cabelas AGM starting battery in my old boat for a number of years, now have one in my two year old boat.  They have been great batteries.  No experience with the larger size 27 used for trolling motor.  They go on sale now and then, and that takes some of the price bite off.

Reserve capacity is what you need to be looking at.

TROJAN and NORTHSTAR---both made in US- with highest quality components.  Cabelas batteries are very good too as an option if you cant find trojan or northstar.  

Ive been running Trojan for the last 4 years, rock solid.
