How are my Jacksonville, FL residents doing?

Featured Replies

Moved here from Pittsburgh in July and while it took a little bit of a adjustment period I'm starting to figure out some spots locally. Found a nice pond in a business Park the other day and pulled 5 of them out within a half hour, including my personal best. With the weather warning up this week I'm going to start hitting the bass scene hard.

How is everyone else doing in Duval?

Catchin' a few. ? but

It's been a little slow. Ive been off since dec.21st and fished several times. Only caught 17 , but one was an ounce shy of 5 pounds.

There are plenty of big bass in the North East portion of the state so you are in a very good place if your goal is to catch trophy bass. I know of a man that post several double digit bass that he catches every year and he catches them from land near where you live. He is not a member of this forum and he post his catches on another social media but this lets you know the type of bass that live near you. Put in your time on the water, learn from each fishing trip, and eventually you will be very comfortable fishing in your area.

Still slow at work, so Ive been bank fishing a lot the last 10 days or so. Its been slow fishing too. Fished 7 ponds for maybe 4 hours total, and have caught a grand total of 7 bass . Caught them on flukes mostly .20190118_142524-966x1288.jpgThis was the biggest, which is nothing to brag about.

These cold fronts that we have been getting every couple of days are killing it! I have found it to be very slow even if fishing very slow.  ?
