Scrounger jigs

Featured Replies

I have tried scrounger jigs only once because I couldn’t get them to stop spinning. I think I had a small grub or keitech on the back. Any advice on how to stop the spins? Or how to fish them properly? Thanks!

If a Scrounger spins something is wrong with collar. The collar should always be at 12 O'clock in line with the hook eye.

Thanks Tom I will dig them out and have a look at the collar position.

Also look for a  twist that acts like a pitch in a propeller.

If the bill is deformed you can remove it, clamp the bill between 2 teaspoons and heat it about 200 degrees F (boiling water) for a few minutes and let cool.

Make sure collar is totally straight, and isn't deformed.  Rig the bait on the back totally straight.  Reel slower.
