What to do With This Rod?

Featured Replies

My cousin recently gave me an old bass pro rod that the tip was broken off of. It was originally a 6'6" Medium heavy but now that the tip is gone it is a 5'5" pole. I was wondering what kind of techniques the pole would be good for. Also, what kind of reel to match it from the lower spectrum?

Thanks for the help!

Tomato stake comes to mind.

Toss it.

Tie a flag to the top and stick it in a rod-holder on your boat/canoe/kayak/whatever.

If more than a foot of the rod got knocked off it probably won't work very well at all, but if you really want to use it then go right ahead. It will probably be extremely stiff since the tip section is gone. If you do use it just don't expect it to perform all that well.

Save it as a loaner rod for people you don't like.
