Coming out party ;-)

Featured Replies

Going to retrieve my girlfriend from her winter hideout soon.  Just thinking through what I’ve got to get done this spring:

- confirm my batteries are sound (left them in and never got down for a mid winter charge)
- update my graphs to latest software (Solix)
- pickup my Ultrex from the repair shop
- send my 4 blade back to croxton for a little love (more cup and maybe another 1/2 pitch)
- install NMEA connections to graphs and point 1 GPS/HS puck - should have spec’d That with the G2
- check my flares to see if they need replacing - they are 3 years old so I’m betting they do
- see if I can reduce and reposition some weight - move the anchor and tools to the passenger side rod locker, etc
- add some LU fluid to the G2 as it was a tad low in the fall
- grease and lube whatever the Manual says needs to be greased or lubed
- consider changing the charges on my life jackets
- finish inventory and insurance pics of my tackle, rods, and reels for just in case purposes
- test to see if the sw upgrade and TM fix have helped my interference problem

Go walleye jigging on the Detroit River
Go blade baiting for SMB on St Clair

What am I forgetting..... hmmmm?

Nicely Done ~

Here are some possible additions to the list:

~Check tow vehicle & trailer tire pressure and adjust as needed (include both spares).

~ Inspect trailer towing hardware ~ coupler, safety chain & nylon tow (bow) strap & gear.

~ Check motor transom bolts for correct torque & adjust as needed (and jack plate if installed).

The bigger water you fish - the more important this last one is . . . . . . .

~ Ensure the 'Float Plan' you leave for a responsible adult is updated with correct info - names & numbers of who to call if you do not return on time. Include an accurate description of you, your boat, motor & trailer, including tag numbers of tow vehicle & trailer, you're cell phone # (if you carry one) as well as any & all health concerns and or life-sustaining meds you may be taking ( why you take them and the interval in which you take them).

Have a great Season!

I do the torque check every couple of trips, but good reminder!  And thanks for the other suggestions as well!
