Bass Marshall program

Featured Replies

I was just looking at signing up for the Marshall program.  Why do they need your social security number?

That doesn't make any sense to me.  I'm paying them they are not paying me.

I originally thought it would be for taxes. But BASS doesn't seem to award any prizes for their marshals. I assumed BASS would have some type of prize system since FLW awards cash to marshals for all tour events and they also give away a boat at the end of the season.

I'm thinking about trying that too. They have a tourney a half hr from my house. It might be fun.

I'm not sure what I need to do to get in on it. I am a bass member. Just the "in it for the magazine" type of member though.

I have marshaled previously and I have heard it is because they have a group life insurance policy to cover all marshals in case something catastrophic were to happen to you. Your SSN is your identifier to prove who you are so you can get paid out if the worst occurred.
