Problem With Trolling Motor

Featured Replies

Was out today on my jon boat, kill'em until I had trolling motor issue. the motor and all are fine, but all of a sudden the foot pedal decided to not work any more. It felt like the pressure went out and it would only go left, thankfully I have an outboard on there too and was able to get in safe. I looked if I turn the motor by hand, it will go to the right and pedal will rise. Once I push the pedal, motor goes left, then stays there. Any ideas. It an Evinrude Scout, got a good number of miles on it

Broken cable look at the foot pedal for the cables.

OMC trolling motors haven't been made for years.

Wow, same thing just happened to my brother and I. It's the cables in your trolling motor. Just like Garnet said

Any fix for it? I saw one of the cables exposed when I was looking at it

If the cables are available. The new MinnKotas are so much better and relatively cheap I would not spend to many $.

Do like me, just order it, when it shows up tell her "This thing was on sale and I bought it for half price. The one I had was bad i COULDNT live without it."

I also like..."My sponsor gave this too me for free"... you probably should have a sponsor so its believable. "

I like the first one. I might have to try it. I already tried the "its hard using the hand trolling motor with thedog in the boat", she didn't bite

I was thinking you could tell her that if you don't get a new one you could get stranded out on the lake. But if she's like my wife that might be more desireable than spending the money!!!! ;D ;D ;D
