Academy h20 frog combo

Featured Replies

Has anyone actually put their hands on this setup?? I feel like for the price it’s probably not very good, however I know some of the other h20 stuff is reasonably priced and still decent. I figure at the price it isn’t a terrible risk to take, just wondering about. Good real life reviews. I was in my local store the other day but I didn’t see one there.

Doesn't even say what power the rod is on the website? Academy's website is probably one of the worst out there for big retailers unfortunately.

I've had good luck with their gear, but I'd be pretty skeptical of a rod and reel combo for frogging for under $50 that includes line and 2 frogs. You can buy a pretty decent frogging combo for a reasonable price.

Most any combo you buy the rod is usually what is sacrificed to keep the price down.

I’m skeptical of it all in reality, it’s marked to $44 right now with the sale they are advertising. For rod, reel, spooled with braid, and two hollow body frogs. I’m pretty confident it’s junk. I was just hoping someone had actually touched one and it was one of those surprise deals.

I read it was a heavy power from a comment or something, I’ve got a good frog set up at the moment anyway, I was really just curious about it, and if one of those amazing value deals I might have grabbed it as a back up or for another application.
