Spincast Rig/Setup

Featured Replies

I have a cheap Shakespeare spincast rod and reel combo from Walmart that I have had for roughly five years, give or take. Now that I am older and a little bit more experienced and more interested in fishing, I want to know more and sometimes researching this myself leads to dead ends. My combo is used solely for the purpose of fishing panfish and the occasional bass. With my spin cast set up, I want to do more than the bobber, hook, and sinker set up. What are some great ways to set up a spincast? {I'd prefer setups for panfish over ones for trout.}

Beetle-Spins are an old standby for panfish

Others I use.

Small inline spinners (Mepps Aguila and Comet are my faves) in #0, #1 and #2

Small jerk and crankbaits (Rapala - any style in 03-05 sizes).

you easily can catch bass with a s/c & med rod using 10 lb. mono. using t rigged plastic worms ... throw 1/8 & 1/4 oz. beetle spins & mini h&h spinner baits for spinning action ... tiny torpedos will do the trick for top water night and day ...

been there done that ... using a shakespeare s/c ... go for the bass ...

good fishing ...

Yes. Don't over think it. Pick up some spinnerbaits, plastic worms and weights plus a pack of hooks. Throw in a popper or buzzbait, and fish the heck out of em all. You'll get bit
