Cleaning mudline stain on a white boat ?s

Featured Replies

I have a white Triton that has a stain line on it that I am having a hard time removing.  I always wash my boat after I leave the water that day, but wasn't able to do so after a tournament last weekend.  I have tried general cleansers, simple green, greased lightning, etc, but still have the stain.  I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good way to get that off the boat?

I have a white Triton too. Best bet is to put a good coat of wax at the end and beginning of the season. To get the stain off try a few used, wet fabric softener sheets. If that doesn't work use a good cleaner wax like the 3M marine cleaner wax.

Thanks, I haven't tried the fabric sheets yet.

I use lime away.

Go to the dollar store and get a gallon of "mean Green" spray it on without dilution. I use it on my Camper it's the only thing I can find that will remove black streaks effectivly and won't kill all the plants around it.

You can use tidy bowl alone or a very diluted concoction of tidy bowl and amonnia.  Put water in the bucket first before adding the last two ingredients and keep your head back.   This has taken some very dirty stains off my old white hulled boat.

Sno Bowl - will  clean it right off. Inexpensive!

Thanks for all the ideas, I'm sure I should be able to get rid of the stains now.

I used my wifes magic eraser cleaned it right off I also used krud kutter it also works well, hope that helps

Use what you need to to get it off. Wash and wax the whole boat (not the pad) buy some Bassboatsaver. Apply the BBS over the wax on the whole boat. the stain will show after being in the durty water but after spraying the BBS and wiping off it will be gone and andything else as well. Bugs, roadtar ect will not stick as long as you clean the boat with the BBS after every trip. I buy it by the gallon and they give you a spray bottle to use.
