I’ve been using Power Pro 8lb

and was thinking about trying the 8lb Sufix out. I use 8lb Seaguar FC as a leader tied with an FG knot. No issues just wanting to try something new. 

I use it on one of my Stradic CI4+ 2500's. It's very strong and smooth. Sufix rates their lines one size under other US manufacturers. 8 lb. is at least PP 10. Even the 6 is supposedly almost the same dia as PP 10. I don't notice much diff between my 832 6lb. and 8.

I have Sufix 832 8lb on my reel, pretty good not super slick as I thought it would be and not as soft as reg PP. It is kind of round not flat but still dig in when you got big fish. I use this line for panfish so I have 4lb copolymer as leader with double uni knot (the line and leader about same dimension)

I use 10lb 832 on my spinning reels and 20lb on my bait casters. I've tried probably every braided line and now use 832 exclusively. Strong, handles well, I really like it.

I will say that this spring I spooled up a couple of Daiwa Tatula LT Silver 3000 spinners with Power Pro Maxcuatro Spectra Braided Line Moss Green in 20 lb.  It's the same or smaller diameter as the 832 in 10lb.

So far so Good ~  Casts & handles nicely.

I like it.  

Can't say for sure yet if it's 'better' than the 832, but it's certainly not worse.

I didn’t realize that original Power Pro has such a thinner diameter than 832. I really like how small the diameter is and, how limp the low pound test PP line is in 8 & 10lb. to get the same low diameter I’d have to go down to 6lb Sufix. Thx for the replies guys.

Again, don't let the 6Lb. rating throw you. It's thicker than your 8 lb. PP and stronger.

 Each Manufacturers 'published' line diameters, for all types of lines, seems to vary wildly.

I've found that the the only way to know if a line is right for me - including diameter, is to get some hands on time with it.

May not mean I have to fish it, but being able to compare them in person at a local retail outlet is helpful & very enlightening.

   Unfortunately, this is VERY, VERY TRUE. Especially true on spinning setups.      jj

I've never used 8lb, but I have used 832 in 15lb up to 50lb and I don't have any complaints.
