I have a couple of rods with  hook holders I decided to remove because they get in my way . I thought about clipping them off , then I would have two sharp little wires sticking my fingers . i thought about bending them or cutting the wrap that hold them in place . What would be the best way ? I hold the grip in front of the reel and the little wire loops  make it  uncomfortable .

Warm the epoxy with a hair dryer and carefully slice the thread along the foot. Pulling the tag end will peel off most of the epoxy. Gentle heat and scraping with the edge of an old credit card will clean up any residue. 

Wrap it with heat shrink tape

I went fishing yesterday and that wire loop was in the way . I just clipped it in the middle , then grabbed the wires and pulled them out while wiggling back and forth .

Scaleface has a good idea, if you are worried about the holes, touch them up with a toothpick dipped in some clear nail polish.

That's a good idea. I just broke a Dobyns dropshot style hanger off and have the two sharp wires now.
