So, I'm looking for a rod I can toss lighter swimbaits, i.e. 6" Hud's that weigh 20z's or so..I found the Falcon BuCoo extra heavy 7'5" rated for 1/2 to 3 oz.

Any of you gents used this rod ? if so what did you like or dislike about it.

Havent used that particular model but I have several bucoos.. i will say when it comes to falcons there power rating is always a little softer than what it says like heavy is more of a med heavy

I have a 7' med hvy and it feels like a med. Really nice and light though, love it. Look at it's lure weight rating, 1/4 to 3/4. It seems pretty accurate, it is just most other rod companies would call it a med.

I would also say that the Bucoos tapers are also a little different than other brands. My buddy picked me up a 7'H fast on a crazy deal and I find it nowhere near that rating. It feels like a slightly lighter medium heavy with a moderate fast taper. Like, I feel I could throw treble hook baits on it with no problems tearing them out.

Not saying the bucoos aren’t great rods there power ratings are a little softer than most companies..

Thanks for all the input. Decided to go with a Dobyn's SB 795 Fury. Looks to fit the bill pretty good.
