GOOD SAVE

Featured Replies

Executed a good save on one of my old Rick Clunn LC DD this morning when it got hung up. I bought a 3 pack of these lure retrievers on sale for around $3-$4 about 2-3 years ago and this was the first time I used one. You could make your own using snaps and sinkers, but for what I paid for these, I think it paid for itself today. Although I have several of these cranks, they're not made anymore and I'm glad I was able to save this one.

I have several of those lure retrievers. Woo Daves was promoting them. They do work great.

If only I could find one of these that can retrieve some poor non fishing decisions through the years..

The money you save using a lure retriever will outweigh the cost of it. Some of the lures you save, you can't put a price tag on. I carry both a telescoping one that will reach down to 12ft. and something similar that slides down the line for the deep, or difficult to get to hang-ups.

One thing you didn't cover in that video - the very first step (underwater) should always be to loosen the line (a lot) and count to 10. I've had lots of snags where I tugged so hard I thought the line was going to break, and then I try that trick and it comes lose.

Also, the way you demonstrate that last method is dangerous. There's no reason to aim the rod like a rifle aimed right at your face. You can do the same thing from waist level, it's dangerous enough. It's good you mention the danger, but I think folks will remember the action more than the words.

I like most of your videos a lot, sorry to be critical on this one. ?
