Headed out to Bethel Island on the 29th

Featured Replies

I am going to Bethel Island for a my first FLW Highschool tournament on September 29th. I have not been fishing out there and would love some tips. If you have any tips for me, they would be very appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Edit: Bethel Island is some what near Antioch

You live in near Bethel Island!

The only thing I know about Bethel Island is it has a lot of recreational boat and yatch traffic. I would fish the north end of Frank's Tract flipping tulles with brown/blue jig and trailer.

Be safe!

I live about an hour away. Thanks for the tip. Now just need to get that jig

Punching has been producing some nice fish.  Not sure how early you are getting out but also the frog and buzzbait have been producing in the morning.  Swim jigs, spinner baits, blades swim jigs, square bills are good search baits and once you find them you can slow down and flip a jig  or a Senko.

Good luck @TroyCopeland05 in your the FLW tournament. If you’re able to do a little pre-fishing, @camman provided some very good suggestions. And I’ll add the dropshot and your favorite creature bait to the list.
