One of my guides just broke off my megabass destroyer and I need to fix this rod. Megabass is sending me a new guide(second from the top) and was hoping someone knew how to fix this correctly. Please let me know. I wish they would send me a new one but I don’t wanna send mine back because I have had so many good memories with it.

It is a straight forward repair. The one thing to look out for is damaging the blank when removing the old finish and threads. A decent rod builder can make a repair, that one would be hard pressed to pick out from the other guides. I usually do my own, but Hellen Keller could tell the difference.

You could do it yourself.  Plenty of good how to videos out there.  You'll need thread and thread finish too.  It might not be that much cheaper than having a rod builder fix it, especially if you don't have finish and wrapping thread on hand.

Try looking on facebook or a similar site for a local rod building group.  For instance, I ended up finding a "SE Michigan Rod Builders" group and they were happy to help with these kind of things.

Pay a pro to do it or you will never be happy with it. If you're like me, you'll still find fault with it.  Costs about 15 bucks.  Google fishing rod repair.  Be prepared to drive an hour if you have to.  Also be prepared to wait a couple weeks if you're lucky. 

If it's a rod you really care about then seek out a craftsman that you trust.  Quality guide repair seems strait forward until you see the product.  See samples of the person doing the work.  There was a local repair person here in Memphis and her work was not something I would ever seek out again.  For a high end rod your looking for a true artist, and that most likely will also cost you two way shipping.  Repairs are harder to make look right than a new wrap.  DVT is a sight sponsor so you may want to check with him.
