Looking for advice on choosing some rods

Featured Replies

Been creepin on here for a bit and this is my first post. I’m looking for some advice. I fish out of a kayak and I like rods able to be used for more than one technique. I want to try a glass or composite rod for chatterbaits and 3,4,5 xds. I was looking at the Daiwa tatula elite Brett Ehlers 7’4” bladed jig rod.Anyone have any experience with it or have other suggestions. I’m also looking at getting an expride MH or maybe heavy in 7’2” or 7’6” for bottom contact not much heavy cover where I fish mostly lily pads if anyone has any input on that. One last thing I need a short frog rod under 7 ft. Fishing from a kayak I have trouble walking a frog and the rod tip hits the water. Tatula elite 6’9”heavy maybe a falcon bucoo or Jason Christie series 6’11” or anything else.  Any help is appreciated thanks

Hello @DirtyYAK, welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums! Unfortunately, I won’t be any help answering your rod questions, as the only Daiwa’s I own are from the OG Zillion line. You might also post this in the “Introduction” section as well and others may be able to help. Again, welcome aboard! JB

Can't help.  Those rods are out of my price range.  Just wanted to :welcome: you to the forum.  Will be several along sometime today to offer their experiences with those rods.

No longer in production, but Fenwick had a 6'9" MH in their Elite Tech Smallmouth series.  These rods had shorter handles...which I assume is a good thing fishing from a kayak.  Someone else will have to offer advice on current production rods with similar specs.
