Looking to purchase a new spinning reel to put on an nrx. Will be using this reel for drop shot, shaky heads, and other small (1/4oz +\-) baits.

 

Would like to stay with shimano or Daiwa. What’s your favorite reel in the $200 range?

It's hard to beat the ci4 around that price point.

That Tat is nice, but I have one small gripe about it. Once in a while when I'm opening the bale, my hand will rub against the small part that sticks up from the drag knob and change the drag. This is on a 2000 size Tat, where I keep my drag light for panfish, etc, maybe not an issue for other larger sized Tats.

Huh, I guess everyone holds their gear differently. I would recommend the 3000 LT in the shallow spool version. It holds the same amount of line as the 2000LT for what the OP is looking for. I have two 2000LT that I love, zero issues for me.

You can get a ballistic lt under 200 off eBay, there are some stradic deals as well. Can’t go wrong either way imho
