Recently ordered some gear from and they included a free spool of 25lb fluoro with my order. I use 10 lb and 15 lb fluoro for most applications, with the exception of 50 lb braid for my frogging, and pitching into heavy cover. My question is what should I use the 25 lb for? Maybe a leader on my flipping/pitching set up? Seems like it’d be a bit too big for anything else. Do any of you have experience using fluoro that heavy?

I'm just guessing, but I'd imagine it's because that's what they had a lot of lying around.  Some people will put this on a flipping stick rather than heavy braid out of the belief that braid rubbing against wood or grass spooks bass.  I'm not sure that I believe that this is true and somehow mono or FC somehow sound like a good set of twin fiddles to bass, but I guess we'll never know for sure.  It should be less visible and might be more abrasion resistant than 65 lb braid, but I can only imagine the manageability issues.

Leaders or wind chimes.  You might have to use an FG knot to go line to line to avoid it getting caught on the guides because it has a pretty large diameter.  Most don't use any leaders of flipping/pitching.

Large swim or glide baits

Flipping on windy days.  

Swim or glide baits, as was said before.  It'll work as both a mainline or, as I prefer, as leader material.

What I was thinking. 

Frog fish with it.  Before the fancy lines came into being, I frog fished with 20lb mono and it worked.

*Heavy cover flipping and pitching. 
*Sight and bed fishing into moderate to heavy surroundings.  
*Large soft or hard body swim baits. 
*Drop or short casts into brush piles. 
*Casting t rigged plastics into and through submerged vegetation of any kind.

There is a fluorocarbon flipping hook designed for 20 to 25 lb FC line.

Common lb test for swimbaits and for salt water fish.

Thanks I may try it as a leader with the fg knot. I can’t imagine filling a spool with it due to manageability. I only own 1 glide bait and honestly never throw it so I can’t justify dedicating a reel to it.
