1. Has anyone used an offset seat post (ala Bill Dance) and what is it like?  I'm considering one for my conversion because frankly, I don't stand all that much when fishing and my stand-up seat makes my back hurt if I sit on it too long. With the small front deck, it seems the offset post would give you more room and maneuverability.

2. Will a swivel eze 3/4" post fit in a springfield base?

I have used a home made one.  I had a 16' boat with no room in the front.  It was nice to get back a little ways and have some room.

They both offer a base with a 3/4" pin receptor.

I bought the offset seat post and hated it because it was always moving around and facing the wrong way; if you sat perfectly still maybe then it would be fine.

I have used the offset pedestal seat for three years and I love it. You'll quickly adjust to and enjoy a seat that allows you to move easily while seated.  It puts a larger area of your deck within easy reach. (I bet that's why Bill Dance likes it)  The greatest advantage of this type of pedestal is that by seating a fisherman 4-6 inches farther back, there is much more room at the bow to stand, put gear, and that huge trolling motor foot control isn't so much in the way.  Get one.  You will not regret it.  Tight lines  

The guy I fish with has a 201 Stratos anf to lean on the butt seat and run the trolling motor you would need to be 7.5 ft tail.

So I'm looking for offset butt pole for Stratos.
