Polishing an Aluminum Boat in lieu of Painting

Featured Replies

That does look nice. I would imagine it would cause a lot of glare on the water. I hope the inside is not like that. Talk about a sun burn.

Holy elbow grease, batman!!

My arms hurt just looking at that!

Looks awsome! I did mine last year w/ Mother's Polish. It was too shiney for our super clear water though.

Man, what a shine ;)! I really love me some Mother's but wouldn't it take quite a bit for a boat. I've used it on my '67 Chevy truck wheels, bumpers and other chrome. I haven't found anything better...

;)

The detailing on the edges and such is the hardest part.

Don't put it in the water.

I looks like a chrome Rat-L-Trap!

Bass will hit it and sink it.

But nice job with the shine!!!! ;)

Power Tool junky that I am and never thought of the polisher :-[...

I used the mothers powerball on my snowmobile tunnel and that made it really quick to get a shine close to that. Once you get the crud off with the powerball, polishing by hand is much easier to get the shine like that.

No mater what I tried it was hard, we had to wet sand it to get the crud off and talk about the black stuff coming off, here is a pic with the crud
