New bottom bait rod help

Featured Replies

Hey guys, new to the forums here.  I got really into fishing a couple years ago and are finally getting around to expanding my arsenal and becoming more technique specific with some upgrades.  I'm looking for a good, sensitive rod for pitching around bottom baits.  I know sensitivity is all subjective, but just looking for some advice on rods.  I don't have a budget, but my one hang up is that I really don't like cork handles.

Right now, I have a Tatula Elite that I do really like.  I thought about getting another heavier version of that, but I figured I would do my due diligence and ask around since I don't have a ton of experience with fishing different rods.  I was looking into the Poison Adrenas and Miller Rods, but haven't heard much about them.  I've looked at other options on TW without cork and I'm open to suggestions, so any help or information you guys can provide would be great. Thanks!

You like the EVA foam?

Lots of people like the Falcon BuCoo. But there are tons of options with foam handles.

Have you checked out Cashion rods? They use carbon fiber handles.

Yeah, if you don't want cork then St. Croix Legend Xtreme.

Otherwise, with no budget and if you could do cork I'd go NRX 853c or 854c. I just got some and shouldn't have waited this long.

Have you fished with the Poisons yet?  The only information I have seen about them is from pro staff or from Shimano themselves, so of course they're going to say the rod is good. I haven't fished with St. Croix, but I will definitely check it out.

Have you fished with the Cashion rods before?  I've looked them before at some fishing expos, and the carbon fiber is pretty interesting.  I thought about buying one of these, but they seem really thick compared to other rods.  I am interested in how they perform though.
