  1. Pretty much every scale on Amazon has great reviews. Can't really go wrong. This is what I've used for years. Been very accurate. I'll test it next to to other scales every year to make sure it's still giving accurate readings. https://www.amazon.com/Etekcity-Multifunction-Stainless-Batteries-Included/dp/B0113UZJE2/ref=sr_1_8?crid=3Q8TIYRCM7Y17&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.0h0h-Y1-q0ykta6Qwz59ZWs01wuWvU4y_1drPMixGRLq_ju6fnVwggVRlpzu4eHJ85ElhJUA1c_eI6CIbQQg1i_nIs-LPrU3kMa2sgQJ6cbHCgIfca0QIJBR4mK0uoku7U7Do0C43eun1umz2st7SBJRA17ihiX2e3wO8pN2Ls9cIogmLETh3ZmLlprF_w89rNmW_imkSe3XyH1dyYaZIWKtZXTf4DDGzRh3nuppiM3fgcmOdQs0VI4eA0r-tN9Hn18hxPPMGMQqHqPCgyCQRk3cZTPtL-Ad7e7xz9yGLK0.bQt7J7xMxvd8_2pofxi6OigdSGz9pa3N7FqNK3dgdHo&dib_tag=se&keywords=small+scales+digital+gram+and+oz&qid=1777311342&sprefix=small+scale%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-8 The scale @Peacedivision and @MN Fisher looks like a great option as well.
  2. I somehow stumbled upon an old Googan video and ended up watching the whole thing. Thankfully it was all a dream.
  3. Very cool. I'd love to chat with Christie.
  4. You're at Table Rock? Could you feel the tension between Welcher and Patrick? 😅
  5. Would you say it's powerful enough to set the hook on micro Texas rigs?
  6. Starting now. This could be pretty fun
  7. Have either of you fellas had a chance to test out your new rods yet? I ended up getting the 7'1 Phenix Classic BFS along with an Ark Gravity reel. Haven't been able to get out with it yet, though. But depending on how that goes, I may want another option for other type baits. I really don't wanna put much more money into it tho...with just not knowing how much I'll even be able to use them. Looking at the Element Z2 and maybe the Kast King reel @Big Hands recommended. Thanks again everyone for your advice.
  8. The SA734C is a great moving bait rod. Very versatile with 40# braid (to leader in some cases). Topwater (buzzbait, walking baits, ploppers), bladed jigs, spinnerbaits, paddletails, lipless cranks. Heck, even frogs in sparse cover/open water. Toads like the Stanley Ribbit (now made by Frog Factory). Running weedless Gambler Big EZ through pads. I've put this rod through the paces over the years. I did try out the Tatula XT when it came out. Very nice rods for that price point. I had the 7' MH/F. It was definitely on the stiffer side of fast IMO. I was gonna check out the M/F but never did, and ended up giving it to a friend.
  9. Foutz pretty much just clinched it with a wild catch at the trolling motor. A 5+ pounder.
  10. What are you looking to do with these rods?
  11. I believe he was throwing a walking bait...faaaast. Then switched to a popper for a bit. *edit- I guess he was throwing a buzzbait as well. I must've missed that.
  12. This drone footage of Christie catching them on topwater is awesome.
  13. Lipless and bladed jig would be tied on for sure.
  14. I've not. But I decided to give this guy a try a few years back on a gin clear smallie lake and I couldn't keep them off the end of my line. Also got a few LM as well.
  15. And they don't break the bank like so many other ones do nowadays. Very underrated.
  16. Yo-Zuri 3DB Series Pencil 100 is also a good one. Always love the red heads! Classic.
  17. Evergreen Shower Blows is one of my favorite walking baits. They have a few and come in different sizes. Also the Teckle Kicknocker. Also comes in multiple versions/sizes.
  18. This has served me well over the years. The blue one is $5 cheaper right now. https://www.amazon.com/sspa/click?ie=UTF8&spc=MTo0MDcyNjYzNzQwNzQ3MzM0OjE3NzU1MTg2MDk6c3BfYXRmOjMwMTA2MjkxMDU3NTIwMjo6MDo6&url=%2FPiscifun-Gripper-Waterproof-Electronic-Stainless%2Fdp%2FB07F753ZYY%2Fref%3Dsr_1_2_sspa%3Fcrid%3D2AJHKNLX9SD9C%26dib%3DeyJ2IjoiMSJ9.faUrpGUA9nDKFffo97q2jWyS6ItL4vVPmz7xeha5LVAfp0PerhScKoWi4vUVaM1GPOehIjjR3xk0J1gpCtvjr131BqWUlEvxVnsFlvHmSuukYZWhTJHxmzrkwtiHFr_8P0ZaYN9u00wsWoGRQZ6xSom4YZEQSMHF1gybKL-t3RyPmDRWv3tEmdx2fquFupdflEE1bZVILY1kX2rjxnPThXmFks4FTnfmuZAoAVKQQyBYNwDZJO1EX3ON6mCMIu-pa4DUBR2ynMZHFx3mLZ070pZk18DKmxSqgU9qWJ9r5Pk.tr5DyAjDjh2wtkOu_1DfDdwLuJ9sfhw1jINlFWZammc%26dib_tag%3Dse%26keywords%3Dpiscifun%2Bscale%26qid%3D1775518609%26sprefix%3Dpiscifun%2Bsc%252Caps%252C187%26sr%3D8-2-spons%26sp_csd%3Dd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY%26psc%3D1
  19. My bad. I got that rod mixed up with the Phenix that @Big Hands mentioned. I was leaning towards that rod. But the ICON also has me intrigued. What hook are you using for those tiny Hogs?
  20. I love the grip-pins. They're my go-to for EWG. Definitely helps keep the plastic from sliding down so easily.
  21. Personally, I don't really notice a difference. Even punching. I used to always use straight shank with a snell knot thinking that's the only way to go. One day I ran out of my flipping hooks and started using heavy wire EWG. No problem whatsoever. After that I use either or.
