What are some good translucent walk the dog lures?

Featured Replies

I am fishing in clear water and want some walk the dog lures for clear water. From what I have seen so far translucent is the key. They show some here Five Lures To Fish In Clear Water. I have Strike King Sexy Dawg but from what I see you can't get that in translucent. I am looking at a JT-95, it has no rattles though. I am not big into walk the dog lures and have no idea who makes them. Thank you.

Evergreen Shower Blows is one of my favorite walking baits. They have a few and come in different sizes.

Also the Teckle Kicknocker. Also comes in multiple versions/sizes.

I fish clear water for smallmouth.

And love a wide open topwater bite.

The baits pictured have been producers for me.

Yo-Zuri 3DB Series Pencil 100 is also a good one.

Always love the red heads! Classic.

With a little acetone you can make most plastic lures translucent. Clear baits catch fish here in gin clear water.

Heddon Zara Spook - https://bit.ly/3CsLvf6

Both come in translucent colors.

I was just getting ready to say the Yozuri 3dbs are very underrated. Matter of fact I have a tournament on Norman next week and I have one tied on right next to a BooYah buzzbait right now!

And they don't break the bank like so many other ones do nowadays. Very underrated.

The JT is a good bait. Basically can't go wrong with any mentioned above.

Megabass Dog-X Diamante; one of my all time favorite walkers, killer finishes too. Pictured is Tennessee shad, clear gill, and deadly black shad. Truth be told I've done better in clear water with non translucent colors, especially ones with chrome in them. Evergreen black bone color slays too, very similar color to mb deadly black shad.

The JT 95 is what I would recommend. That or the wooden Sammy 100.

There’s a mess of clear to clearish hollow belly frog colors from a mess of manufacturers to try now. The Spro popping frog in misty shad and sunfish are worth a look - they walk like a dream.

Copper Red Baits wave frog, loud mouth, tsunami and ripple frog all come in a color called stranded shad that is clear with chrome glitter and it’s real good.

All of them walk great and have the added bonus of being able to fish over slop or wood or under overhangs.

I like the Duo Pencil 85 in Ghost Gill in tight or calm water.

Yo Zuri makes a really good pencil too. They have a ton of colors, good number of ghost colors, sound profiles and they walk easily. Tough to beat for $10

You certainly can get the Sexy Dawg in clear, but Strike King calls it Nude instead. I don't think it's any longer made, but you can still find them out there with a little searching.

Bait Specs - Far Casting. - Allowing Nose to Glide Side to Side.

I like a Super Spook Jr in the clear color, works good in clear water and the feather treble on the tail seems to help.

Another clear Spook guy.
