Which is the right LC pointer 100?

Featured Replies

I would love to get into jerkbait fishing this spring, and I continue to hear time after time that you can't go wrong with the Lucky Craft Pointer 100. I jumped on tacklewarehouse and cannot figure out, which is "the" pointer 100 everyone is always talking about?

Pointer 100 H3

Flash Pointer SP

Lightning Pointer XR

Pointer Minnow

im not expert on Lucky craft but fish on a few.

Look at tackle warehouse seem like,LC added a lot of model with in series.
The pointer from my understanding when ppl mention is the Pointer Minnow. The Pointer H3 seem to be a modified version with 3 hooks. The B freeze used to be version available only oversea. The XR is slow sink version. Flash Pointer SP seems to be a new model (I’ve never try it)

I use the Pointer SP

Silent Pointer 95 is the one I have the most success with.

This^^^^^!!!! Lucky Craft has all these different baits but if you never used one start at the beginning. The original plain old Pointer minnow.  The Pointer 78SP and the 100SP will catch fish and you will get a better understanding of what these baits are about. There are 2 things that make the Pointer stand out from all other jerkbaits, the first is the suspend really well over a wide range of water temps. The other is they have a little wobble when you pause it and that seems to trigger strikes. So start with that one first and then add others if you feel the need.

Thanks everyone! I'm sure it will be a slow addiction and I will convince myself every week why I "need" another color/model/depth! Hopefully the addiction doesn't get as bad as A-jay though ?

LC Pointer 100 SP is about the most versatile bait you can start with.  I have more of them than any other suspending jerk bait.  After that, you can venture out to the more subtle Flash Minnow or go deep with a Staysee or Pointer Deep models.  Sizes from 90 to 120 seem to work best with bass, both green and brown.
