Duplicating Lakeview G3 Cards

Featured Replies

I am wondering if it is possible, and legal, to copy and paste my quickdraw and waypoints and stuff from one Sd card and place it on another, for use in a different unit?

If you saved your own quickdraw data onto a micro card then yes you can copy it or whatever you want because it's your data.  You cannot duplicate a Lakeview Chip because it's copywrited. If you saved your quickdraw data onto a chip with Lakeview then you cannot copy it that I am aware of.

As long as both units are registered to your Garmin account using either ActiveCaptain or Garmin Express, you are able to download maps to your own SD card through Garmin Express. Plug your Lakeview G3 card into a card reader that's plugged into your computer, open Garmin Express, and register the card. You'll then be able to download maps to your own SD cards, but they'll only be unlocked for units registered to your account at the time you download them.
