Curado k issue

Featured Replies

I recently purchased a curado k and at first the svs dial was stuck and then after some force it moved freely. Went to use the reel again three days later and same thing happened. Is this normal? I’ve read some people have had issues with this on the curados.

Mine is tight when first adjusting for the day then after you move it a bit, it’s easy to turn. The next day, two days, three days or a week later when I fish again the same thing happens. I’ve heard loosening the screw can help or it cannot help, depends who you talk to. I haven’t messed with the screw on mine unless it completely freezes.

When you open the sideplate and swing it out you'll see a gear next to the thumb wheel. Put a drop of bantam oil on it in addition to backing off the screw a tad. You have a pretty small window where the screwdriver clears the frame in order to reach the screw. Close the plate and cycle the thumb wheel back and forth several times. That should loosen it up. I've had to re-apply oil now and then when it gets tight again. Don't go overboard loosening the screw. No benefit past a certain point.

I had one of my three like that, but I fish those reels with that set on "2" and never move it so it makes no difference.

Mine was a bit tight at first but loosened up a bit. Still a little resistance but nothing that is a problem, I would rather it not turn easily to avoid accidental changes, which happens on my fuego quite a bit.

Fuego CT? Because mine take some effort to turn and the fact that they click lets you know if its moved.

For whatever reason mine seems to gets adjusted when I fish with it. It might be the way I hold the reel, not sure. Don't get me wrong, the fuego is a solid reel but it seems to easy to turn the dial when I palm the reel.
