Eagle Claw Bass Kit

Featured Replies

Just FYI my local Walmart had a Eagle Claw Laser Sharp Bass Kit today consisting of 8-12 each of 3/0 EWG, 4/0 EWG, 5/0 EWG, 4/0 Worm Hooks, 1/4 Screw Lock Swimbait Hooks, 1/8 Screw Lock Swimbait Hooks, Wacky Hooks, Dropshot Hooks, 1/8 3/16 and 1/4 Cylinder Dropshot Weights and the same in bullet worm weights, glass and plastic beads, swivels, and rubber bobber stops for $9.97.. I picked one up.. Didn’t really need it but it looks like a heck of a deal to me..

I use a lot of Eagle Claw hooks, especially their EWG worm hooks. I think a lot of guys still view them as a cheap, poor quality hook, but they're not anymore. Their black platinum line of hooks are really nice and quite a bit cheaper than other premium hooks.

I bought one of those last year, very good deal.

That is it my friend

I been using them for years since Walmart stop carrying the gamakatsu and I have no issues whatsoever Hook up ratio is good. Their not my favorite but they are cheap and they work extremely well.

Use the beads between the hook eye and the bullet weight?

If so, someone school me on that! I use 3/0 & 4/0 EWG hooks and use a bobber stop to pin my weight. What size should I be looking at using 1/16-1/4oz tungsten?

I'm thinking that tapping action of the weight against the beed is what this is all about?

Yes the bead is used for sound and helps protect the knot from the weight when not pegged. Size depends on where I'm fishing but my most used are 1/8 and 1/4 weights.

Man, this is a jam up and cheap little kit and as @Bluebasser86 and others have echoed, Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp isn't bottom of the barrel anymore.  I've been using their 1/0 Wacky hooks for Neko and Wacky to great success.

I'll have to keep an eye out for these.
