I am looking at a 2004 Xpress x19 with a Yamaha 150 4 stroke. I need an aluminum boat for where I fish. I already have a 1999 zx180 with a 2 stroke 115. If I sell my boat for what I think, I will be spending about $8000 difference.

 

I can put a new 4 stroke on my boat for $10,000? I need a boat that will last me a lifetime. I know the SeaArk hull will last me a lifetime. The layout of my Seaark is not that great.

 

My question is is the Xpress worth the price difference?

Like any used boat it depends on the condition. 16 year old aluminum Xpress boat isn't a problem but the Yammy 4 stroke could be. Worth having the engine checked out by a reliable mechanic, you can check the boat and trailer condition.

 

150 is underpowered, too.  Xpress is a good hull, though.

If you don't like the sea ark layout, there is no sense in repowering unless you want to be unhappy for a lifetime. Sea Ark makes a helluva hull. I have a buddy with an X19 and 175 Yammie and he does a lot of river fishing. He's never had a bad thing to say about the boat.
