Fished the Alley Wednesday for the first time since the lock down.  The ramps are open and the fishing was excellent.  It's nice to be back on my home waters.  Caught over 50 in four hours, most were deep, and a bunch in the 17" size.

Fished the alley again today, Sunday. Caught 27 from 7:30 to noon.  All deep and all on the road side.  Another fun day.

Nice job. I'm sure there were plenty of fish that were happy to be bedding this year without being bothered.

Sounds to me Geo, that you're on top of your game   

 

In my limited exposure to southern Florida, L-67A Canal has a good catch rate, particularly in April.

This year of course, no one had the luxury of picking a time.     Great job, Geo!

it’s all about water levels and now it’s at a yearly low.  Will be like this until the monsoon starts.  They are all locked in the canals, the flats are pretty dry.

I might add, if monsoon rains are similar to the last few years,

they may overshoot the month of June, and persist thru July & August

Friday 5/22/20

went out again this time to the Alley north side.  In four hours caught 37 bass from one to 3.5 pounds.  Most caught deep by the drop offs in 8 feet of water.  Fun time but felt very hot out there and called the trip because of it.  Good luck and happy hunting!

as usual you are spot on Roger. I've been banging them in the l67 for the past month. ive been putting in on the trail and going to 8. wrecking them on snakes and spooks.

Went back to the Alley Friday and fished until noon.  The fishing has got tougher but I still caught 19 with two just over 5 pounds.  Lost a monster right at the boat as I tried to lip her.  Huge mouth, and deep, right along the bridge pilings.  All caught on plastics, and all caught deep.  Big girls are still out there, but most of the gators and smaller fish have moved back into the swamp.  As waters continue to get higher these bigger fish are going to move back to where the food supply is and out of reach.
