For comparison sake - my Scout SS canoe is 84# empty. Add in the TM, battery, gear, mods and me and we're looking at 350#-400#. The 30# MinnKota Endura I have will push that to around 4.5mph according to my GPS.

Thanks for the response. Im looking for a decent boat for smaller electric only waters. I had considered a 2 man but unless i can get an 8 footer for around $500, I feel my money is better spent elsewhere.

I think its a BPS thing to be honest. Their website lets me add the more expensive Pelican 120 without any issues. I tried contacting customer support with no luck finding a workaround.

Checked Sportsman's Warehouse - closest to you is Las Cruces, NM - they have one in stock for $529

It'd take a road trip...

I have the 1468 with a 55lb troller. You'll move just fine - that's basically a big tin kayak.

Do you think it would be possible to try to add flooring over part of it?

100% yes. Mine has a deck over the front third. It is however a V, so that front rolls some. Its definitely not a flat bottom.

Yeah im still trying to decide whether i should go with this or a jon boat. It seems weird to me that when i was looking for a 2 man everyone talked about the poor stability of jon boats.

You happy with your purchase or would you go with something else?

I would not get a jon boat.  I had a 12 footer and could never stand up in that dang thing.

I'm incredibly happy with my purchase. Its perfect for me and my three person family for a first boat and step up from a kayak.

Also - My son stands on that deck to fish with 0 problems.

Primary stability of a jon is better, but once that goes, you're swamped. The V rolls some in waves and if you walk around, but at no time have I ever felt it was unstable. They're great little fishing boats.

VolFan,

Did you install the deck yourself or is this an option that can be ordered?  How much weight does the deck add?  What do you power the boat with? Thanks!
