The French Fry is one of my all-time favorite Carolina Rig baits. Has anyone tried a TRD on one or maybe a split shot rig? Seems like  the buoyancy might be a plus.

I have split shot a Trd as well many other of the Zman Trd line and the Hula Stick, they work very well on it. Caught my PB smallie on a split shot rig with a Trd Crawz in fact.  Its also a good alternative to a drop shot in some situations since you are using floating baits, in fact it can be an even better bet since the action you're able to put on the bait is greatly increased.. 

I use the Z-Man Hula StickZ for split shot and Carolina rigs. Those tentacles give it a bit more action than the TRD

I've done a split shot rig with their finesse worms, but not a TRD. I'd bet a big TRD or the Bang Stickz would work. I've done good with a full size ZinkerZ on a C-rig.
