Has anyone bought and used any of the new Lowrance HD systems yet?

I'm looking to replace my Humminbird 535 with a Lowrance.  I thought I'd be quite content to get the Lowrance 510 that BPS is clearing out...and then I saw it side by side the the new HD system.  Man, it certainly looks sweet...

Anyone have one?  With this new a product, are there any bugs that have been discovered?  I'm not sure if this is one of those new items that I should give a year to be on the market before buying.

Yea man, I just ordered myself a HDS 8 and it should arrive soon. I saw that Lowrance is going to add the side view imaging to all HDS systems sometime in '09. But you can add it to an already existing HDS system. That puts Lowrance head and shoulders above Humminbird now!

And I can hide it from my wife :)

Spending $1000+ on 1 fishfinder is tough.  But spending ~$500 twice is easier to camouflage :o

hey tillerybass,

where did you see that lowrance is going to add the side imaging? I'm trying to decide between getting the humminbird with side imaging or one of the new lowrance HDS systems. If lowrance is going to add side imaging, then that settles it for me. But how reliable is it that Lowrance is going to add that in '09???

I was with the Lowrance folks the day they announced it.  I saw the demo units and it looks pretty sweet!
