Frogs

Featured Replies

So I have the Lunkherhunt frog, both large and small size. What are you guys thoughts/opinions on this frog? It looks cool and realistic with the legs, but I have not caught anything on them. I have been told they are not good frog lures.

I also have a black hollow body frog with the tassles for legs, I havent caught anything with it yet. I think I may have cut the legs too short.

I also have the Yum tip toad in white and have not caught anything with it yet.

I recently started fishing a lake with a ton of moss on the top, just a big thick green mat. I have seen tiny brown frogs there so I figure thats good to fish frogs on a body of water that actually has them as a food source. But the stuff is so thick that all my frogs get just covered in it every cast, despite them supposed to be weedless. Also sometimes the mat is so thick, they just slide across the top, i know thats what frogs are supposed to do, but its so thick when they slide across the top, I dont think the fish can even know its there. My best luck fishing these mats is to just punch through with a weedless texas rig, but I really want to catch a fish on the frog. I do catch the fish hitting topwater, but they seem to be hitting insects so d**n small you can barely see them.

Lunkerhunt frogs have been trash in my experience but I know guys like them.

The Tip Toad is great. I use it where the weeds are just a little too thick for a buzzbait, but not thick enough for a frog.

thanks for your advance, i lost one dink on the small lunkherhunt frog. After reading through some more posts and watching some videos. I think the type of frog I need, is one good for fishing heavy mats.
