New Boat Help

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I need some help and some recommendations for a new boat.  I finally decided to upgrade from my old Tracker and dive into getting a bigger 19-20ft boat that I can eventually fish tournaments with.  I have been looking into fiberglass options that are a few years old, but recently stumbled across the Vexus aluminum line.  Has anyone had an experience with these boats?  How do the compare to some fiberglass ones?  I know there's some advantages and disadvantages to both, but just want to see what everyone's thoughts are and what would be the best overall option for the money.

Also wondering about electronics.  With so much new stuff coming out recently, I'm just wondering what your recommendations would be if you could full kit out a boat?  Thanks

I've always favor glass boats if your going to be fishing med to large lakes. As for electronics if your going to be tournament fishing get the best that you can afford and a top shelf TM. One with spot lock for sure. And 36 volts if going with a 20' glass boat.

I can' comment on the Vexus never been around one. Good luck in your search.

Be sure to get electronics that are compatible with the trolling motor that you chose, because of the extra functions that are available.

Unless you're fishing big rough water that vexus would be an awesome rig. Local guy has one and loves it. Ive always fished glass boats but bought a triton 18tx last year and have been pleasantly pleased with it. There are times I wish it was a little bigger and heavier but the pros far outweigh the cons for my fishing style. Have fished several tournaments over the last year from it.

Hi everyone. I'm also in the same boat(ha). I have done alot of research on the Vexus aluminum, watched some test runs on you tube, big water, choppy. Seems to do well. Hope it helps, but get on you tube and do some digging. I still have a year or two before I can purchase a boat. Vexus is the way I am leaning. Best of luck, be safe.
