I recently got my third baitcaster, which I will throw jigs, bigger t rigs and frogs and such. So now that i have that I no longer have to rely on my 7' MH to do everything that my 6'6 M cranking rod couldn't. So I'm thinking of switching it from 20# braid to maybe 14# fluoro. Will be mainly using lighter t rigs, chatter baits, spinner baits, and some smaller swimbaits. I know for abrasion fluoro beats braid, it sinks, and has a little stretch. I really cant see any reason not to switch. Yes I could do braid to fluoro leader, but if I can eliminate an extra knot by going 100% fluoro I would like to. 

 

On that note, how is the Yo-Zuri Topknot fluoro? I currently have a spool of 12# Vanish fluoro I use for leaders and could use that, but havent read the best reviews about it. 

Go for it. I'd suggest 15# Seaguar InvizX or Tatsu depending upon your budget.

This is exactly what I've done to 85% of my setups.

I will second that.  I have either 12 lb, 15lb or 20lb Invizx on 14 of my 19 bait cast reels.  Love the stuff.  Never understood anyone having trouble with flouro carbon.

InvisX is good line, but too stretchy for me for anything on the bottom and any single hook moving bait. 

I use Sniper and Shooter. 
Both are a little more than InvisX but well worth it. 
Tatsu is the next level in both quality and price.

I recommend Assassin or Invizx for most people that want to start using fluoro. Still need a good wet knot, but it handles really well and casts well. If you have good success and want to upgrade later on, you can get Shooter or something a little pricier. Either way, even if you decide you don't care for the full spool,  you can use it for leaders. 

   For years, I hated fluorocarbon. Didn't use it. Now I have one dedicated rig filled with InvizX. Love it. It's a lighter rig, so I use 12 lb. I don't suggest 12 lb. for what you described; go for 15 lb.      jj

So far all the experience with flourocarbon I have is 12lb Berkley Vanish for leaders, but its worked well. 

 

Is Invisx worth the upgrade from Seagur Red Label? Or Yo-Zuri Top knot?

Any line is an upgrade from Vanish!

I use InvisX for spinning leaders and I am extremely impressed with it.  Worth it for that application at least.  Ive not switched from Red Label on many of my casting rods yet so I cant say how much better it is there.

another vote for Invizx but don’t go lighter than #15. trust me on this.

Why is that? I was thinking 15# anyways, whatever brand. I know some brands are weird and do like 12,14,17 so would go 14# in that situation.

i kept busting off on the hook set with #12. drove me crazy. i thought it was my knots but it wasn’t. not sure if the Invizx comes in a #14 anyways.

Ok good to know. I always err on the heavier side of line. 

I just remembered, on my cranking setup i have 15lb HiSeas Grand Slam Copoly. Its been fantastic, but ive never fished the bottom with it. I have a 300yd spool so plenty to spool up this setup. 

 

My main concern is will it be as sensitive as 100% fluoro. Ive fished it in the rocks amd landed smallmouth and good size largemouth so I know its durable and abrasion resistant enough for me.  I'm worried about sensitivity when fishing a t rig and such.
