Help With Worm Hooks

Featured Replies

Whatsup, Im planning on buying some 4 inch ZOOM curly tail worms and some 3 inch Berkely Chigger Craws. What would be the best sized hook for texas rigging these? Thanks?

The 4" worms you can drop shot rig or use on a 1/8 oz dart haed jig.

The 3" Chigger Craw works good on a 3/8 oz jig as a trailer.

The 4" worm I would use Owner #5133 down shot hook size 1/0.

The 3" Chigger Craw a 3/0 off set worm hook C-rigged or T-rigged with 3/16 oz weight.

Chigger Craw is a good jig trailer!

You’ll get 1000 opinions but I’d rig the Zoom 4” curly tails on a Gammy straight 1/0 light wire worm hook. My two cents.

1/0 EWG wire hook

I use a 1/0 worm hook and usually texas rig.  That 1/0 hook seems to me to be the best size by allowing you to catch  panfish if you happen to stumble across them bass fishing. Gives better hook ups imho. I've been  using the 4in dead ringer for a long time and have had very good luck with them. Also, the ones I got from Tackle Warehouse float with a 1/0 hook making it possible to  use top water. (I'm sorry. I just noticed you were not talking about the 4in. dead ringer.  I feel like an idiot. Sorry again.)
