Shimano Curado Dock Sniper Rod 6'10"

Featured Replies

Does anyone have experience with the Shimano Curado  Dock Sniper Rod. It's 6'10" heavy extra fast rod. The descriptition of the action it has a nice tip, and is not a broomstick. TW has them on sale for $99 and was wondering what other applications this rod may be good for. Frogging, top water.....what do you think?

I came close to getting this rod. Don't see too many heavy sticks under 7'.  I didn't realize it was labeled as a dock skipper but that's exactly what I wanted it for. I'm sure it would work great for general jig fishing and a little frog action too.

I'm interested in that same rod. Stuck between that and the Falcon Lowrider 6'10" Heavy/Fast on SO for the same price. Can't make a decision and unable to get my hands on either model. Curious to see any feedback on the Curado.

That is my interest too, an under 7’ heavy. Seems like no one bought this rod......hopefully someone will chime in.

I do not have the rod in question but have this rod,  Dobyns Champion XP Full Cast Rod 6'10" Hvy Dock Skip. I have had it for a few months now. The length is no problem the taper on this rod is perfect. The biggest L/M I have caught from under a dock is 7lb 3 oz. I have used this rod for several different baits also including frogs but not in real heavy cover, I prefer a 6 power for that. My point is that the length of this rod works. It's probley a 4 1/2 power. Check T/W & get the spec'c & compare them to the Curado. I hope this helps y'all

Hate to bring this old thread back up, but I have been looking for a shorter/heavier rod to do some short range pitching with jigs and Texas rigs while using a heavy fluoro line. I came across this rod and decided to pull the trigger on it. I think I will throw a Curado 70 HG on it and put some 20 lb Shooter on there and see how it works.
